TRUFFLE SAVORY CREAM

Truffle is part of the tuber mushroom family. It grows spontaneously under the surface of soils in symbiosis with the roots of trees such as the poplar, the hazel and the oak creating an exchange of sugar, mineral salts and water. It’s a very ancient product also mentioned in manuscripts going back to the Roman Empire.

Curiosity

The truffle hunt is carried out with the help of different dog breeds that can smell and locate the truffle. Before dogs, the famous “truffle pigs” were used as they that have a stronger sense of smell than dogs, but as the swine are really greedy for truffle, they often ate them, thus leaving the hunters empty handed.
