The origin of the word orange comes from the Persian word “nareng” that probably derives from the Sanskrit “nagaranja” that means “the preferred fruit by elephants”. The Olive is a very ancient cultivation, going back to 3000 to 5000 BC. It originates from Asia, and the fruit has a meaty texture, an oily pulp and when ripe has a purple/black colour.
